Studio owner and Executive Producer James Walsh has developed original programming and currently works on and off site with some of the most innovative Schools, Academies and NYC public institutions including:

We provide a variety of options from large group tours as well as one-on-one private hands-on music performance & production education, training workshops, lessons, and intensives taught “IN CONTEXT” in a real recording studio environment. These are custom tailored, unique experiences to learn at your own pace under the direct guidance of recognized industry veterans that will help shave years off your learning curve and expose you to experiences ordinarily out of reach for up and coming creatives.

5 hour Recording Studio & Music / Vocal Production Intensive

2 Day Workshop |  Saturday March 24th & Sunday March 25th: 

Ages 9-13 |  9:30am – 12:00pm

Ages 13+ |  12:30 – 3:00pm

Original Production of  ‘THIS IS ME’  from The Greatest Showman

This 5-hour hands-on immersive experience teaches instrumental and vocal techniques within the context of an actual professional music production at the legendary Threshold Recording Studios NYC under the direction of studio owner and renown music producer James Walsh and talent manager/producer Karen Lampiasi.

Participants are involved in :

• Recording lead and background vocals
• Selecting the best takes and comping a track
• Instruction in mic technique and mic selection and learning about which mics are best to use in different circumstances and why

Featured solos will be assigned at the discretion of the producer by audition that day, but everyone will have solos/ duos and will participate in group vocals and harmonies.

All participants will be given a final copy of the mixed and mastered tracks a couple of weeks after the intensive for their own use. We will also be posting it on YouTube and other streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Amazon and all participants will be credited as one of the artists!

The 5 hour 2-day intensive is $350.00 per person. 

A $150 deposit is needed to secure your spot asap via PayPal.

The balance is due by cash or checks upon arrival at the studio.

• Setting up a tracking session (computer software, microphones, organizing musicians)
• Instruction to recording drums, guitar, and keyboard with special opportunity for individual  instrumentalist tracking
• Selecting the best takes and comping a track
• Recording lead and background vocals
• Instruction in mic technique and mic selection and learning about which mics are best to use in different circumstances and why

Featured solos will be assigned at the discretion of the producer by audition that day, but everyone will have solos/ duos and will participate in group vocals and harmonies.

James Walsh– Threshold Recording Studios NYC owner and executive producer James Walsh is an internationally recognized music producer & songwriter/multi-instrumentalist with over 25 years developing projects for artists of all ages and genres from the best and brightest of Broadway to some of the biggest names in popular music, culture, broadcast media, fashion, & technology.  James is also an Executive board member & content/program producer for the Road Recovery Foundation- a non-profit that harnesses the power of music industry veterans through music programs to lend support to today’s youth.

Karen Gibson Lampiasi – Graduated from Vassar College as a music major and worked at Motown Records, PolyGram Publishing, and Atlantic Records as an A&R Executive developing new artists and Executive Producing soundtrack albums, including the Gold Album for the hit TV show “The Wonder Years.”  She has helped manage many pop, rock & country recording artists & performers throughout the past 25 years, including multi-platinum recording artist – and sister – Debbie Gibson.  Current Lampiasi Talent Management clients are on Broadway, National Tours, film, TV, commercials and music.
