Earlier this year we did an album with a very creative guitar/cello duo from Austin, TX called Dead Tree Duo. The album, Scaffold, was recently released and just got an outstanding review from the Austin edition of the deli.  This record was more of a "Live" effort and done over the course of just a few days. The band was back in August to do some more produced recording with studio owner and founder James Walsh co-producing with in-house producer and engineer Jeremy Sklarsky. These two new songs will be released as singles and are quite exciting. Stay tuned!...

Acclaimed cellist Dave Eggar was back, this time arranging and recording strings for American Idol winner Philip Phillip's debut album "World from the Side of the Moon." The album has already gone gold, selling ~600,000 copies since its late November release. It is always a privilege working with Dave. Congrats! Dave tweaking the knobs on strings for Philip Phillip's debut album Perennial Threshold Recording Studios NYC favorites Edelweiss were back to record their newest single, "Withering Heights," with music producer Jeremy Sklarsky. Since they were last here, Edelweiss released their record in Japan and played to enthusiastic crowds back in Pennsylvania and at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Singer, songwriter, and actress Rebecca Hart was in for her first new studio recording since 2006. "Valentine" is a...

We Are The Woods are in Guitar World this month talking about their new record -Whales and Roses- and the time they spent  with us at Threshold Recording Studios NYC with music producer Jeremy Sklarsky. Very cool Jessie Murphy, Marcia Webb, Tyler Beckwith) ...

We're very excited to be producing the debut album for Stargroves. Front man and songwriter Ted Watson has put together this project and we're very excited to be a part of it. It mixes the influences of Sigur Ros, Stars, Freelance Whales, and many others. The first single, "Westfjords," features Academy Award nominated actress Abigail Breslin and was exclusively featured on Perez Hilton upon its release. This is some good stuff and we are looking forward to finishing this album! Produced by Jeremy Sklarsky (Freelance Whales). ...

Rodney Howard, Tony Tino, Greg Mayo, Mark Rivera I love all of the artists that come through the recording studio and work with our team- the vibe has been great for many years, and we just seem to naturally attract the coolest, most talented guys and gals on the planet.. That said, every now and again, someone pops in and just makes me feel good, like someone really gets it- the reason i built the place- Recently it was the ginormously talented Mark Rivera (Billy Joel, Ringo Starr ALLSTARRS). Rico is just one of those NY guys that did good, real good, and has the energy and soul to prove it- - and when i talk to him to i can start a sentence midway though with without having to explain myself- know what i mean...

Incredible session with the great Mark Hudson and artist Madame Mayhem- We couldn't resist asking Mark for a pic since the most popular question when folks heard he was at the studio was - "what color was his hair? Yes, that's the uber talented Dave Eggar in the back:) Threshold Studios Producer Jeremy Sklarsky has since updated his phone to include INSTAGR.AM:) ...

We had the pleasure this month of hosting Patty Smyth (think SCANDAL) and her long time guitarist Keith Mac recording vocals for an upcoming Christmas record. I can think of more than a few of Patty's songs that have made all of our days brighter over the years:)...

Threshold Recording Studios NYC- Perfect for Singers, Songwriters and Bands! Our studio time with We Are the Woods is coming to a close shortly. It has been an absolute blast having these awesome artists in the studio. The record we are nearing completion is a solid mix of folky acoustic and rocking electric sounds. The music is a whole lot of fun and there were always plenty of healthy snacks and an assortment of teas on hand. Somehow, while geeking out over Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, and other various middle school literary obsessions, we managed to put together a pretty fantastic record:) check the Threshold jukebox for audio shortly! ...
