Yes, we totally got to spend some time with the legendary Smokey Robinson @ Threshold Recording Studios NYC!  Smokey dropped in to share his experiences with Road Recovery, the teen peer support program we mentor and support here in our studio twice a week.  This man is very special- and it was an honor to be able to share a moment of our journey with him. Threshold Recording Studios NYC: Music Producers and Recording Engineers on Staff We had a lot of fun this summer on an independent recording project with Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish of the band Living Colour in our main room at Threshold Studios.  Great guys and insane talent.  Remember Cult of Personality? Many of our productions start with a simple stripped down piano (or) guitar and vocal demo brought to us by an aspiring artist (or) developed with our uber talented house producers.We then work with you, side by side, over time, to produce and build out the perfect production like you hear in our jukebox.   Our process is as nurturing as it is creative and productive- and our results speak for themselves. While in New York City last summer, Australian born singer-songwriter-pop artist Dana Lowrey jumped in with music producers Jeremy Sklarsky and Mike Wuerth to craft this beautiful track. We worked with Dana (Donna for all us non- Aussies:) from the songwriting and demo stage through the full production, final mixing and mastering of several of her songs, including this special treat. Studio owner and Executive Producer James Walsh then went to work with our video production team to create and shoot the elements of this video both in our studio and on location. We had a blast shooting scenes on the rides at the Coney Island boardwalk and in the surf and sand of this historic Brooklyn location. "Come Away": A song written by Julia Piker and Produced by Jeremy Sklarsky and James Walsh at Threshold Recording Studios NYC This last year we completed an EP with Julia Piker, a fantastic singer and songwriter from Brooklyn. Here's the video Julia made for "Come Away" from the EP. We love Julia, this song,  and we are quite impressed with how well this video turned out as well. 2K views and counting!  Way to go Julia! A great example of our Artist Development services:  From the songwriting stage to a music video production and beyond! Singer, Songwriter Dana Lowrey. This is 17 year old Dana Lowrey's  song "Fearless"co-written and produced at Threshold. Dana is a very talented young singer/songwriter from Australia who came to work with us in New York in 2013. We've spent quite a bit of time writing and producing music with Dana and continue in 2014 as artist development consultants. The buzz is very promising!   With our efforts he has already placed as a Semi-Finalist in the ISC and has had multiple requests for licensing.  Much more to come! This video was shot at Threshold Recording Studios NYC and is the first single from her forthcoming release. A beautiful song, beautifully sung. It's been a wonderful week at Threshold Recording Studios NYC helping to prepare for the "Simon Kirke and Friends" residency at NYC's Iridium and hosting this amazing group of musicians. Connecting over 5 decades of musical royalty, the combined history of these performers is absolutely amazing- and humbling.  It was a pleasure getting to know them all a little bit better- particularly Threshold Studios and Road Recovery friend and supporter Simon Kirke (Bad Company).   If you are looking for a great night of music in NYC next week- GO NOW!   Jeff Kazee, GE Smith, Simon Kirke, Wilbur "Bad" Bascomb @ Threshold Studios ...
