Sometimes, the most fun we have in the studio is working with people from outside the music business. We've recently worked with two very exciting tech startups, FiftyThree and Hullabulu, lending our sound and music production expertise to help bring their apps and unique content to life. Working directly with creators from different disciplines is an inspiring, exciting process. First up is our recent collaboration with FiftyThree, creators of Paper (named as  2012's App of the Year by Apple). This week sees the launch of their first hardware product, Pencil. Wired is already calling Pencil the "best iPad stylus yet." Working with the tech and creative team at FiftyThree, composer Patrick Cannell, and Threshold Recording Studios NYC mainstay instrumentalists and producers, we helped create a beautiful soundtrack for Pencil's official trailer. Transforming the soundtrack transformed the spot. Though they'd seen the video dozens of times, the new and improved soundtrack instantly changed the spot's impact. Congrats to Ted Watson and Stargroves! Nashville based label DigSin has signed Stargroves to their growing roster and will be releasing the band's debut album, produced, recorded, and mixed here at Threshold Recording Studios NYC by Jeremy Sklarsky. The band has already received some very positive press - their first  couple of singles (featuring Oscar nominated actress Abigail Breslin) got great write-ups on MTV Buzzworthy and Perez Hilton. Threshold Recording Studios NYC: Perfect for Singers, Songwriters and Bands.  This week the live room at Threshold Recording Studios was transformed into a photo and video studio for upcoming Threshold artist, Dana Lowrey. Over the course of three days, we were able to capture hundreds of still photos, some indoor and green screen coverage for a music video, and shot a few live acoustic covers and original songs on Threshold's 7' Baldwin grand piano. Our white backdrop and lighting turned the place into a perfect photo and video shoot location.  Shooting the acoustic covers and original songs in the live room gave Dana studio quality audio for her videos - a leg up on most of Youtube! Earlier this year we did an album with a very creative guitar/cello duo from Austin, TX called Dead Tree Duo. The album, Scaffold, was recently released and just got an outstanding review from the Austin edition of the deli.  This record was more of a "Live" effort and done over the course of just a few days. The band was back in August to do some more produced recording with studio owner and founder James Walsh co-producing with in-house producer and engineer Jeremy Sklarsky. Threshold Recording Studios NYC- Perfect for Singers, Songwriters and Bands! Our studio time with We Are the Woods is coming to a close shortly. It has been an absolute blast having these awesome artists in the studio. The record we are nearing completion is a solid mix of folky acoustic and rocking electric sounds. The music is a whole lot of fun and there were always plenty of healthy snacks and an assortment of teas on hand. Threshold Recording Studios NYC- Perfect for Singers, Songwriters and Bands! Here are some of the highlights of our recent artist development productions- Mike Billiot Always a pleasure to co-produce with the über-talented Heather Holley at Threshold Studios. Early this summer we completed two songs with singer and songwriter Mike Billiot from New Orleans. The beats were co-produced by Andrey Jandy Prudnikov from the Ukraine. Check out his youtube page which already has hundreds of thousands of views. Heather, James and Jeremy have been doing quite a few projects together lately. Always fun for us to get a chance to pull in some of our favorite players on our productions. Adam Roth is an awesome guitar player and can usually be found playing with Dennis Leary and The Enablers and the Liza Colby Sound. We recently recorded 'F@#$ You' with Dennis and the gang, a great follow up to his classic 'AssH@#$'. :) Cellist Dave Eggar was in again recently working on a great song with artist Mat Brandon. Nicholas James in the Studio OurStage certainly seems to think so. Nicholas' song "Safe In My Arms, produced at Threshold Recording Studios NYC with James Walsh and Jeremy Sklarsky, has made it into two top 10 lists on ourstage.com, including the Subway Fresh Artists National Competition.
