Acclaimed cellist Dave Eggar was back, this time arranging and recording strings for American Idol winner Philip Phillip's debut album "World from the Side of the Moon." The album has already gone gold, selling ~600,000 copies since its late November release. It is always a privilege working with Dave. Congrats! Dave tweaking the knobs on strings for Philip Phillip's debut album Perennial Threshold Recording Studios NYC favorites Edelweiss were back to record their newest single, "Withering Heights," with music producer Jeremy Sklarsky. Since they were last here, Edelweiss released their record in Japan and played to enthusiastic crowds back in Pennsylvania and at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Singer, songwriter, and actress Rebecca Hart was in for her first new studio recording since 2006. "Valentine" is a...

Rodney Howard, Tony Tino, Greg Mayo, Mark Rivera I love all of the artists that come through the recording studio and work with our team- the vibe has been great for many years, and we just seem to naturally attract the coolest, most talented guys and gals on the planet.. That said, every now and again, someone pops in and just makes me feel good, like someone really gets it- the reason i built the place- Recently it was the ginormously talented Mark Rivera (Billy Joel, Ringo Starr ALLSTARRS). Rico is just one of those NY guys that did good, real good, and has the energy and soul to prove it- - and when i talk to him to i can start a sentence midway though with without having to explain myself- know what i mean...

Threshold Recording Studios NYC- Perfect for Singers, Songwriters and Bands! Here are some of the highlights of our recent artist development productions- Mike Billiot Always a pleasure to co-produce with the über-talented Heather Holley at Threshold Studios. Early this summer we completed two songs with singer and songwriter Mike Billiot from New Orleans. The beats were co-produced by Andrey Jandy Prudnikov from the Ukraine. Check out his youtube page which already has hundreds of thousands of views. Heather, James and Jeremy have been doing quite a few projects together lately. If you are interest in working with us as a team, and we cover a lot of ground in a unique way as a team, make sure you give us a call. Alana Kessler Produced another beautiful song with Alana Kessler called "Holding On To You." We will definitely be posting this one after it comes back from mastering. Check out Alana's yoga studio at Sangha Yoga Sala. Brett Macdonald What an incredibly productive 3 day session with Brett Macdonald of Virignia! Featuring Tom Welsch (Rock of Ages) on...

Great session down at Threshold Studios this week. Kirsten Thein, who was recently honored with a Songwriter's Hall of Fame Abe Olman Scholarship, came down to record some basics with her band. Kirsten has a classic sound and a great, smoky voice. Kirsten ThienKirsten was backed by as good a group of musicians as you're likely to find, including Steve Holley (who played drums with Wings in the 70's!), Erik Boyd on bass (and producing) Tommy Mandel on keys (check out his credits btw), and Arthur Neilson on guitar. The biggest surprise of the day was the arrival of Hubert Sumlin, who sat in on guitar for two songs. Hubert is on Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists of All Time list. He played with Howlin' Wolf in the early days and is a major influence on the British guitarists of the 60's who basically set out to copy American blues players. Jimmy Page even stole a Hubert Sumlin lick for Led Zepplin's Lemon Song. Don't be surprised if he finds himself into the Rock and...
